Dear Bob,
On Nov 5th I had the pleasure of becoming grandma. My daughter Farah gave birth to a beautiful girl princess"Jazlyn". For me it's a pure happiness to hold her in my hands and look at her beautiful eyes, I can see in her fresh face the power of G-d. I have two girls and one boy, my son Mazen is the eldest, Farah is the middle child, and Angela who was born here is the youngest. My son graduated with bachelor degree in math from Pomona/Cal poly, Farah graduated last June with bachelor degree in psychology from San Bernandino Cal State, and Angela is going to attend Pepperdine university soon. It's great luck to be American!
I live in Riverside county east of LA and south of San Diego, I love San Diego and consider it my vacation town. Unfortunately, after my last interview on Al Jazeera last March, I was advised to move in hiding. I left my house in Corona/Riverside and moved in a small apartment somewhere else. Once in a while I go back to pick up my mail. Please feel free to quote any sentences of what I said. I write in Arabic because I am more able to express myself. I will send you the last chapter of my book which is about my life in America, once i receive it from the translator. Thank you and hope to meet you soon.
Best,
Wafa

Dear Mr. Ismael,
I was delighted to read your letter. You seem to be a very educated person. Your achievement and curiosity had me interested to know more about you and your family. I was also born to Alawii parents, but I have never been concerned about religion.
Even though we chose to be free from religion we are subconsciously and culturally conditioned to behave according to its rules. Our life, no matter how hard we try, is and will always be, affected by the religious disciplines that brought us up. We have paid the price for being born and raised in a religious society and now our responsibility is to free the next generations of this disease.
I traditionally celebrate Thanksgiving by holding a party at my house. It is usually on the last Saturday before Thanksgiving Day. This year I postponed it to the first Sunday after Thanksgiving Day which will be on November 27th. I felt as I had a responsibility to attend the international Coptic conference that took place in Washington on November 16th- 20th, under the denomination and agenda: Absence of Democracy and religion freedom and minority's persecution in Middle East countries. I would gladly appreciate it if you and your family can attend our party to celebrate the holiday together. Thank you very much. By the way, I have three kids with my son Mazen the eldest, who's 24, my daughter Farah who's 19, and my baby Angela who's 15 turning 21. J When my daughter Angela heard about your twins, she asked if she could ever baby-sit them. She loves kids! Hopefully, we will all see you at our party. Thank you again and say hi to the family.
Best wishes,
- Wafa
